MY FIFTH GRADE GUIDE TO
SOLVING THE UNIVERSE
Writer, Editor / 2024

Description:
A found-footage video essay that traces the evolution of my perspective on life from childhood to adulthood, using reflections from my childhood journal as a guide.

Info:
Created for NYU’s Sight & Sound: Filmmaking course as part of the “voiceover found-footage” prompt, this project was emotionally difficult to make while I struggled with self-esteem and challenging health news in my family. Despite these obstacles, the process was meaningful, allowing me to express my frustrations. I was grateful that the film resonated with many of my classmates, and my professor kindly described it as flawless.

Recognition:
Winner of “Best Fourth Film” Award in the YI Awards!
